! (only working download link in the post is the TWC one.Medieval 2: Total War - Rise of Kings v1.3 to make it work though, you will need to go into steam/steamapps/common/medieval2 and make a copy of medieval2.exe inside and rename the copy kingdoms.exe as it uses this to apply the patches and fixes that are only in the dlcs.

the longer you beat them and take their settlements and win battles, the more likely they will accept vassalage for free or a few thousand gold. Last but not least, ai will actually make impressive empires (hre conquered all of central europe and northern italy and egypt owned the entire middle east in one of my campaigns) and will ask weaker factions to become a vassal. Trade become alot more valuable and trading with your friends enemies doesn't always have to mean war as long as you can keep up the relation with said faction. on the other hand, castles can recruit up to 6 units so they are your war machines. The economy also gets tweaked to have castles make maybe 40-45% of what cities could do, as is realistic. though logically with the heaviest cost and an almost non existent recruitment pool. Next to that, you can recruit "generals" both mounted AND dismounted. (seen ai deliberately use a boat to send 2 large armies and aim for my weak castles to take them and recruit a bigger army there to conquer me further for example). With this mod the campaign and battlemap intelligence is vastly upped. and i tend to recommend it to those who just want the best possible vanilla experience. If, you happen to still be dissatisfied with the diplomacy, there IS a mod "if you're interested", that rebalances the entire game and fixes ai diplomacy. otherwise it may take too long for your reputation to be rebuild at this point. as there is no faction_standing and many other settings.txt files in the dlc folders. If im correct, the dlcs should draw their ai settings from the vanilla core files. I will also look for ai overhauls thanks. Also can it be done while in midd game, or i need to start a new game?Īnd you know what that does exacly? What changes from the vanilla? is there a info? You can also look for some ai overhaul mods or some mods that run an ai overhaul with it.īecause ai overhauls tend to make the ai alot more intelligent and humane than you could possible imagine as a mere vanilla player.Ĭan it be done with factions from dlc's? I am playing britannia. The location of descr_faction_standing.txt is steam/steamapps/common/medieval2/data. either copy this into an empty txt and name it descr_faction_standing or, empty out the original faction standing txt and place those commands in it instead. If you want a simple fix for the ai being a backstabbing, illogical piece of aggressive ♥♥♥♥♥: and i know since i played them all to see the difference. for the rest medieval 2 has everything and much more than most of the newer games. the only thing i'd like to see is the "non aggression pact" from the newer games.
